Mediaflow takes the next step – Bonnier Capital becomes a new shareholder

After many years of steady organic growth and being recognised as a Master Gazelle, Mediaflow is now taking the next step. Bonnier Capital has acquired a significant minority stake, adding both capital and resources to broaden the product offering and accelerate expansion.

Mediaflow takes the next step – Bonnier Capital becomes a new shareholder

Mediaflow is a Swedish SaaS platform that unites a media bank, video platform and brand management tools in one single solution — making it easy for companies and organisations to manage digital content, streamline workflows, and meet GDPR and accessibility requirements.

Our customers are mainly based in the Nordics and the DACH region, spanning both public and private sectors — from nearly 200 municipalities to well-known international brands such as IKEA, Burger King and Revolution Race. Today, Mediaflow serves as a central hub for over 850 organisations in their daily work with images, video and branding.

Jonas von Hedenberg As a Nordic market leader in a globally expanding SaaS segment, Mediaflow offers a great opportunity to build something truly substantial together. Supporting a company with a clear vision, strong culture and a sharp solution with many AI applications feels both natural and exciting.

Investment Director at Bonnier Capital
Josef Rönnquist We believe that when people are given the right tools, they can focus on what really matters — telling their stories, building strong brands, and reaching the right audiences with their messages and offers.

The trend is moving towards multi-platform solutions that address several needs at once — reducing the number of systems, services and contracts customers rely on. Mediaflow is a modular platform, and most new customers can replace two to four other tools, saving both time and money. We continue to innovate by developing new modules and adding expertise in emerging product areas.

The process of bringing in external capital has been carefully considered. Ultimately, the choice of Bonnier Capital came down not only to their financial strength, experience and great personal chemistry, but also a shared view of market development, long-term growth and customer focus.

“Bonnier Capital’s investment is a strong validation that our offering truly makes a difference — and will continue to do so for a long time,” continues Josef Rönnquist. “When searching for a partner, it was essential that they shared our vision of what matters and how to achieve success. With Bonnier Capital as a new shareholder, Mediaflow will continue to grow rapidly through both organic expansion and selected strategic acquisitions. Our goal is to keep delivering smart, user-friendly solutions that make everyday work simpler and more efficient for customers across Europe — and, in time, around the world.”

About Mediaflow

With headquarters in Uppsala and offices in Gothenburg, Turku, Hanover and Hamburg, the team of more than 60 employees is passionate about making work with digital content simpler, faster and more inspiring. Mediaflow helps customers create structure, save time and automate parts of the content production and publishing process for web, social media, e-commerce and print.

The company was named Master Gazelle in February after receiving the DI Gasell award for the third time — a recognition of several years of strong organic growth.

Mediaflow’s 850+ customers range from 400 public sector organisations to well-known private sector brands such as IKEA, Vasakronan, Nordnet Bank, Revolution Race, Björn Borg, Adlibris, Burger King and Fortnox. A growing segment includes manufacturing and retail companies, where Mediaflow serves as a central hub for product images, related files and product data — often integrated directly with their e-commerce platforms.

The company’s founders previously built and ran the image agency Scandinav (including Bildarkivet.se), which was sold in 2016 to competitor Johnér Bildbyrå. Since 2017, the team has focused entirely on developing Mediaflow, growing from four people to over sixty. The vision is to build a global company with an innovative platform that simplifies everyday work for communicators, marketers, editors and creatives worldwide.
