Not everyone should have to be a designer
Canva is built on a simple idea: more people should be able to create polished, professional material, even without a background in design. That's close to how we think about tools like the Design Generator in Mediaflow, where templates and clear guardrails let more people in the organization create material on their own without compromising the brand.
With the Mediaflow integration, users now get the organization's images and videos right where they work. No downloads, no local copies on your computer and no hunting for the right version of a file.
What it means for you depends on what you do
If you design every day: More people creating on their own doesn't mean you have to give up control. Quite the opposite. By managing which material is available in shared folders, you can set clear guardrails for what colleagues can use and then let them work independently.
That means fewer small requests for images, logos and files, less time spent checking that the right material is being used, and more time for the work where your expertise really matters. And when you work in Canva yourself, your workflow gets smoother too. You search for and place Mediaflow content directly in your design, without downloading files first and keeping track of local copies.
If you work in communications at a municipality or government agency: A back-to-school poster, an image for social media or material for your next event doesn't have to become a ticket for the communications or design team. You can create it yourself in Canva while working with material that's already collected and managed in Mediaflow.
The integration also respects how material may be used. Files restricted by GDPR status or license terms can't be imported into Canva, which reduces the risk of images being used in the wrong context. You don't have to keep track of which files to avoid. The selection happens before you start creating.
If you're responsible for the brand or a campaign: When lots of people create content, a common problem tends to appear. Old logos, earlier versions of campaign images and files downloaded months ago keep living on across different computers and systems.
With Mediaflow in Canva, users work with the material that's in Mediaflow right now. When a file in the media bank is updated or replaced, you no longer have to rely on everyone in the organization keeping track of which version is the latest.
You also get better insight into how your material is used. Usage in Canva is reported back to Mediaflow, so you can see which files are actually being used, not just which ones were downloaded at some point. That gives you a much clearer picture of which content works and which assets really deliver value.
